Meeting Mountains once more….

Photo by Peng Lim on Pexels

Huge mountains kiss the clouds
The mountain road wakes to the morning
A scattering of monks, everyone bows

The mountain town moves to a clock of its own
Slow, laid-back and unhurried
An oasis of quiet, catapults me to a zen world

Tired of walking, jonesing for a cup of tea
I spot a tea shop beside an oak tree
Drank masala chai, ate some fritters with all glee

I take some roads, hike a few trails
To reach a magnificent monastery perched on a hill
The silence, the aura, is that the holy grail

After spinning prayer wheels, I walk down
Through the maze of scenic paths
Sunset envelops the place in russet and gold

A fulfilling day, I walk to a cream-colored restaurant
Relish smoking hot thukpa
A cinematic view from my window, as I bite into a savoury croissant

A fresh insight, better understanding of self
Away from the cacophony of the material world
I prolong my trip , to seek my soul

With the crazy times upon us, I guess we need to take time to meet ourselves. To refresh, re-energize and to put a fresh perspective to things.

Thank you for reading! 💚💚
