Come, Meet this Beautiful Place

I think my cup runneth over
When I met this place
Devoid of city’s jarring sounds
Full of splendid lakes

Ducks and water birds
All living happy in a world of their own
This contentment doesn’t touch us
Busy acquiring things and kicking up a fuss

The lush trees and gorgeous waters
The calm punctuated by the sound of moving boats
Flitting silhouettes of butterflies and bees
So cheerful, I wanted to fly to be among these

Simplicity and innocence, the jewels
Of this little heaven
And we, busy wearing masks of all kind
Artificiality at its zenith, needed to unwind

The hills looked pristine
Vendors selling local bakery and tea on the floating boats
Enjoying the moreish food, what a happy road
How simple is joy and why our life a heavy load

This place an artist’s burst of colour
Creation’s labour of love
Precious is this time, where everything rhymes
Pause your grinds and your whines

Thanks for reading! 💚💚
