Rise and Rise

Keep trying

The large contour of earth
And the tiny silhouette of me
A speck in the dust I wouldn’t be

Fading and falling
Yet I rise and rise
Is that a surprise

I read and collect experiences
Like a magpie
Little wiser

The perils of life
Some I know and some I don’t
Just a tourist here, for the time I loaned

Till I’m allowed
I’ll try and try
To better myself, no ifs, no why

Carving and sculpting
My inner life
All colours meld into one light

No battles to wage
Here harmony lights bright
Revelling in it, I feel light

The residue
Is left behind
I take a flight
