Journey from sorrow to joy

Photo by Vidar Nordli-Mathisen on Unsplash

Bookended by sorrow, her joy was brief
Oh, this world of pain and grief
That was her belief

Never looked for her image in the mirror
She thought of her existence, sticking on earth like a burr
She wanted warm fuzzies and fur

Washing dishes, tidying houses of others
Tired, she often looked at rivers and their indigo waters
Longing for real chatter, that of brothers and sisters

One day, there was trouble in the neighbourhood
A crowd collected among the woods
Forthright, she solved the problem, addressed these groups

Soon everyone sought her opinion
In the village of five thousand
She smiled bright like soft shade of vermillion

The village became her family
Everything changed dramatically
She rebrushed her life in bright colours quickly

With the little money she had
People advised her to read and write
She studied hard and always passed

After a few years
She became a school teacher
Helpful and kind, she sounded like a preacher

Her happiness grew
She was born anew
She had many many more dreams to sew

Thanks for reading! 💚💚
